Miss Van
Vanessa Alice Bensimon, also known as Miss Van, was born in France and currently lives in Barcelona. She is considered one of the best graffiti artists of her generation. Her eroticized female figures – the ``poupées`` – and her depiction of stormy emotions are her trademark and can be admired in many cities around the world.
Miss Van founded the female street art movement in the early 1990s. After several years of working in a studio, she recently returned to her passion. While her works on canvas are usually grotesque and dark, her works on the streets are more vibrant and colorful.
Her human-animal hybrids are often placed in a „joie de vivre“ environment. They dance and sing, or simply enjoy life. Her artwork has been shown in galleries and museums alongside the work of some of today’s most successful artists.
