Lula Goce
Lula Goce is a Galician-born Spanish artist whose work is deeply influenced by her native coastal environment. She studied Fine Arts in Salamanca and later moved to Barcelona, where she completed a doctorate and a master's degree in artistic creation, as well as training in graphic design and illustration. In Barcelona, she became part of the vibrant graffiti scene, developing her technique in the streets and participating in art collectives in reused industrial spaces. Lula is known for taking her art from galleries to urban walls, interacting directly with the public and transforming community spaces. She has participated in numerous urban art festivals around the world and exhibited in major international art centers and galleries. Her photorealistic style and ability to revitalize the urban environment have made her an influential figure in the street art scene.
About the art
Lula Goce describes her artistic process as beginning with digital work, often using her
own images or those sourced from the internet or friends. She creates collages using tools
like Procreate, Illustrator, and Photoshop, where she edits, cuts, and draws over the
images. When preparing for a mural, she designs directly on a photo of the site to consider
the space, elements, colors, and lighting, ensuring they all integrate into the final piece.
Her painting process involves first sketching the design on the wall and then painting,
using plastic paint and occasionally spray paint for specific details.
Her inspirations range from classical Baroque and Mannerist painting to contemporary
artists, graphic design, and illustration. Lula acknowledges that in today’s visually
saturated world, it’s challenging to pinpoint a single source of inspiration, as influences are
often intertwined.
