
Julien de Casabianca
Julien de Casabianca is a french visual artist. His work consists in bringing
characters from museum’s paintings into the streets to create a new landscape.
Musée Carnavalet, Memphis Brooks Museum, Mauritshuis Museum, MAH Geneva
or Magritte Fondation invited him to play with their collections. Is photographic
work as show in exhibitions in Saatchi London, Galeria Nationales in Serbia or
Slovenia, or Institut du Monde Arabe.
About the art
No Photoshop ! Only real pastings. His work consists in bringing paintings from
museum walls into the streets. He do collages to create a new landscape to
photography it.
He’s invited by museums all around the world, Carnavalet (France), Memphis
Brooks(USA), Mauritshuis (Netherland), MAH Geneva (Switzerland),
Magritte Fondation (Belgium) and many others to play with their collections and
show his work in exhibitions in museums and galleries (as Saatchi London, or
Galeria Nationales in Serbia or Slovenia, Institut du Monde Arabe Tourcoing or
Institut français in Bulgaria, Turkey, Serbia, Croatia) of the photographs he took of
his collages. Some of these photography are now in the permanent collections of
these museums.
The New York Times written a portrait of him. He as publications in the greatest
newspapers, as O Globe (Brazil), El Pais (Spain), Connaissance des Arts (France),
La Tribune de Genève (Switzerland), La Repubblica (Italia) or Hamburger
Abendblatt (Germany).
He’s often invited for lectures and masterclass by University of Arts, as Tokyo,
London, Katmandu, Ankara, Aberdeen, Paris, Hong-Kong.
