Crajes
Crajes is a duo formed by Carla Rendon and Jessica Ruiz. With some of their most known artworks coming from paintings and drawings but they work on all kind of supports and art forms like video art, animation short-films, mural art, sculpture.
The duo coming from a self taught background have studied Psychology and Philosophy notions of which become very apparent in the duos works, the two joined forces in 2009 where they first began to experiment with animation shorts.
Describing their style as ‘Lowbrow’ or ‘Surrealistic Pop’ their artistic philosophy always comes from a concept that may become more ostensible or negated during the final stages of their art processes. The two state that their influences arise from a number of different sources from music to motion pictures to comics. The female figure is the common focus of their art. The beauty, mixed with the fragility of their work can sometimes suggest a more sinister side to the art.
